Finally catching up on the blog


My grandma's final resting place (though her soul is with God). She rests next to Howard, her husband, and just above another Easton, the dearest one to my heart, my father, John.

The trip to Iowa for 2 days was well worth it. It was filled with both laughter and tears as we knew Irene is in a better place but we ache for the loss of her. The Easton family, thanks in a large part to the overwhelming guidance of Irene through the years, has fun together. We enjoy each others company and regardless in the time that passed since our last get-together, we pick back up again as if it was yesterday.

I do believe my mom summed up some of the weekend for my family, though. We felt the loss of my dad again. That part was painful. More painful was not quite finding words to help the pain I heard in my mom's voice. Instead I shared her feelings.

I had intended to post this to my blog shortly after returning from Iowa but time got away from me.

Life since then has been quite busy with trading off dog show weekends between conformation trials for Ghilley and agility trials for Robbie.
